Jerusalem and the Holy Temple through the Ages

Ever since King David made it the capital of ancient Israel, Jerusalem has had a firm grip on the hearts and imagination of men and women all over the world. Jerusalem with its Holy Temple is the center of focus in both the Old and New Testaments. No other city has seen more strife and war, violence and bloodshed than Jerusalem. Over the centuries many attempts have been made to reconstruct in word and picture the city as it was in biblical days and to depict the Holy Temple and its paraphernalia, to analyze the life and ritual in the temple but also to discover how the artisans and builders, craftsmen and merchants of ancient Jerusalem plied their trades.
