Helga Dudman was born in New York and grew up in San Francisco, graduating from Mills College, California, at age 17½ with a degree in history. After working in postwar Germany (1945–1946) for the U.S. Treasury Department, her jobs in New York and London included advertising, P.R., television commercials, and covering fashion for Vogue magazine. She was a journalist for The Jerusalem Post for over thirty years and is the author of twelve books.
